Only the length. The Yukon XL is actually a GMC Suburban (essentially a GMC Suburban) with license plates. GM has decided that the version of the GMC should have a different name from the version of Chevrolet.

This is the same as a Tahoe and Suburban. XL is more and more cargo space.
The XL is an extended version of the GMC Yukon.
